Newman Extends Winning Streak with Wins Over LW Higgins and McDonogh 35

The boys basketball team continued their dominant run on the hardwood last week, improving their in-state record to 16-5 and extending their winning streak to five games by securing back-to-back victories over L.W. Higgins High School and McDonogh 35 Senior High School. The team’s impressive performances further solidify their status as fourth in the power rankings and one of the top contenders in the division.

In their matchup against L.W. Higgins, Newman came out strong, using their signature fast-paced offense and relentless defense to take an early lead over the Hurricanes. The Greenies controlled the tempo throughout the game, with standout performances from their key players helping them cruise to a convincing 60-26 win.

Against McDonough #35, Newman faced a tougher challenge but showed resilience and composure under pressure. After a tight first half, the Greenies found their rhythm in the third quarter, pulling away thanks to sharp shooting and lockdown defense. Their ability to adjust and execute in critical moments proved to be the difference as they secured the 58-54 victory over the Roneagles.
